ROLLED/FLAKED RICE FROM BROWN GRAINS
product of Blue Lake Milling - Australia
Rice Flakes are derived from brown grains of rice, that have been rolled into flat flakes under heavy rollers. Prime Australian rice is a natural grain sourced from growers who have declared their crops to be free of genetically modified organisms.
flaked rice does not need to be milled, just add to the mash with your grain bill.
Flaked rice is often used in brewing to lighten the body and add a crisp, clean finish to the beer. It can also help increase clarity and lighten the color. It is a good beer for extended lagering. Here are some styles and specific beers that might use flaked rice as an ingredient:
American Light lagers, Cream Ales, Japanese Rice lagers like Asahi Super dry and Sapporo . Chinese and Thai brewed lagers
